Beaulieu School Letter

 Dear Parents

I hope that you have all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the year ahead.

I must thank you for your patience.  I am sure when Mrs Noble announced she was going part-time you wondered how long she would job share with Mrs Dalman.  Mrs Noble has now decided to retire at the end of this academic year and we have started the process of recruiting a new head teacher.  Jane told the children in assembly today.  We will be advertising for a replacement head teacher in January with interviews at the end of April.

I am sure you will join the governors in thanking Jane for her dedication to Beaulieu School and for her success in ensuring the children are confident lifelong learners with a strong community spirit.  We could not have asked for a more hard working head teacher and we will all miss her greatly.  It has in fact been a Noble team effort from the wonderful Christmas party entertainment, to Tim’s popular assistance in the classroom and on the games fields, to her husband’s help with transport to events, to her own strong and inspirational leadership of an excellent team of teachers.

Jane has tirelessly overseen the expansion of the school’s facilities and constantly sought to improve the buildings in difficult financial times.  As a governing body, we will miss Jane’s experience, her ability to foresee the next educational issue before any government initiative, and her dedication to the children.

I am sure you will join me in wishing her the very happiest retirement and I encourage you to make the most of her final two terms at Beaulieu.

Yours faithfully

Lynne Truell

Events on the Parkland and Hides Field

As you may have seen, Beaulieu Enterprises Ltd has been issued with certificates of lawful development relating to our events activity.

We are well aware that our application caused some concern last year and would like to reiterate that the application was made at the request of the National Park Authority to regularise the use of this land. In making the application, our only aim was to retain the right to continue our event activity in the way that it has been for many years. The National Park Authority Planning Committee was unanimous in their approval of our application.

In August last year, the New Forest District Council approved our noise management plan to ensure that the sound levels from our outdoor events are controlled appropriately in accordance with current legislation and best practice guidance.

In response to comments received last year, we have also instigated an annual meeting at which residents are encouraged to provide feedback on how well we have done and where we can improve. At the first such meeting in November we were asked to circulate a list of event dates planned at Beaulieu for 2015, which you will find at the end of this newsletter. Please note that occasionally events are cancelled or new events added at short notice. An up to date list is available on our website

We have a dedicated telephone line which you can call if there is an urgent issue relating to one of our events, which is 01590 614622.
