Beaulieu Twinning and Beaulieu School begin a new cooperation

On 1st July2019. The Beaulieu Twinning Association presented the Beaulieu Village Primary School with a cheque for £420 to fund the purchase of a new programme for teaching French to pupils at the school.

Headteacher  Katherine Jones was delighted to receive the contribution for this excellent French language Key Stage 2 teaching aid for children aged 7 - 11,which it is hoped will prove to be fun and a motivating way for them to start learning French.

On presenting the cheque, BTA Chair, Jenny Graefe also expressed the  Twinning Association's great pleasure at being able to support  this exciting new venture and help assist the introduction of French language tuition at an early stage through this important educational tool.

The Beaulieu Twinning Association, which covers the areas of Beaulieu, East Boldre and Exbury, has been promoting and fostering friendship and understanding with the people of Hautvillers in France since 1986.

The University of Durham’s Castle Theatre Company presents one of Shakespeare’s lesser known, but most charming comedies; ‘Love's Labour's Lost’ on Thursday 11 & Friday 12 July.

This hilarious comedy explores the classic trope of the forbidden fruit being the sweetest, as men and women meet and fall in love, despite their better judgement. Shakespeare at Beaulieu is the perfect entertainment for a sunny July evening.

King Ferdinand of Navarre and his friends vow to devote themselves to scholarly learning for three years. They forswear women for this period in order to keep their minds solely focused on learning. Unfortunately for them, they have forgotten that the Princess of France and her ladies are scheduled to visit on diplomatic business - when boys meet girls, romantic chaos ensues as their vows are tested.

For over 30 years Castle Theatre Company has taken its annual summer Shakespeare tour around the south of England and the USA, performing classic comedies on the lawns of stately homes, gardens and abbeys across these countries. Renowned for its high-standard, Castle Theatre Company promises an afternoon of light-hearted family entertainment.
