Here is how your donation will help...
Bob is a self-employed fisherman and was doing really well. He has been self-employed for the past two years and has submitted one year of trading records to HMRC. Bob and his father have been informed that their main customer, a fish wholesaler, are no longer able to sell on to their customer base (mainly hospitality sector) and their catch is no longer required. Bob’s worried about how he will get by and needs our help. He has looked at www.gov.uk but is confused as to whether he qualifies for a self-employed income support grant. He also wants to know if he's eligible to apply for Universal Credit as he has no income whatsoever. He needs to pay his bills and doesn’t want to start falling in to debt.
"It took a lot for me to contact Citizens Advice in the first place but when I spoke to Gilian she put me at ease straight away and helped me a lot with my problem. Can’t recommend them enough.
The New Forest team give advice across a range of subjects including debt. £50 will enable a specialist adviser to help resolve Bob's debt problems.
Marion has a child in Reception year and another in year 2 at the infant school. She is entitled to free school lunches not because she is on benefits but because all infant school children are. The school is now closed to all but key workers but she wants to know if her children are still entitled to free school lunch. Her husband works in a gym and a hotel which are both closed due to Coronavirus, so he can’t work right now. Marion doesn’t work, they get child tax credit, but money is tight. They have a mortgage and are worried about paying this, as well as all other commitments. They want to know what they are entitled to, how to claim, and need help from a food bank.
"I think it is a wonderful service, the staff were very helpful, I would recommend anyone with a problem to seek help and be helped"
Our five community based hubs across the New Forest will be available for face-to-face meetings soon. £30 will ensure a presence each day in the community.
120 trained volunteers throughout the New Forest support a wide variety of people. A £5 donation will help cover their expenses.

Use the Right Service
New Campaign Launched - Use the Right Service
A new campaign, Use the Right Service, which helps people access the correct NHS service, has been launched across south west Hampshire and Southampton.
Use the Right Service promotes alternatives to A&E for non-emergencies, such as home care, pharmacies, 111 and Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs), and is designed to support the reduction of pressure on A&E at Southampton General Hospital.
Over the coming months we will be promoting our integrated, cross partner campaign, via radio advertising on Heart FM and Smooth FM, digital and social media updates, street and transport advertising, as well as spreading the message through the distribution channels of local partners, such as GPs, councils, schools, voluntary organisations and community centres. Use the Right Service has its own website – https://usetherightservice.com/– and has been formed through a collaboration of 10 partners across the region: · Care UK · Hampshire County Council · Partnering Health Limited (PHL) · Solent NHS Trust · South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust · Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group · Southampton City Council · Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust · University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust · West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group
As NHS staff we have an important role to play as ‘ambassadors’, to ensure that people access the right NHS service, receive the highest quality care and to ensure that A&E and 999 services are used for those that urgently need them.
Please promote the ‘Use the Right Service’ campaign with colleagues, friends and family. Feel free to follow us on http://www.twitter.com/NHSRightServiceand www.facebook.com/usetherightservice.

Over 150 VW's arrived at Beaulieu to start their sixth annual New Forest Santa Run in 2018, taking toys and craft items to Southampton General Hospital Piam Brown Unit which cares for children up to the age of 18 with cancer.
The charity run was so successful that not only were presents gathered for the Piam Brown unit for children and teenagers with cancer and haematological disorders, but there were enough gifts for children spending December in other wards across the whole hospital.
The event is open to all classic and custom VWs who are participating in the Santa Run; from split-screens, Beetles, buggies, golfs and caddies to T4s and T5s.
In 2018 prizes were given to the most eye-catching participants who entered into the Christmas spirit, with jolly festive costumes for themselves and their VWs: Best Dressed Family, Best Dressed Dog and Best Dressed Van.
