A new retail business Belle & Blossom, has opened in part of the premises on the High Street previously occupied by Bear It In Mind.
Proprietor, Fionola Shaw, says: “When I worked as a busy estate agent in south west London many years ago I often dreamt of living in the countryside and opening a flower shop. Now, almost 20 years later, my husband, two children and I are living in Brockenhurst and my flower shop is already six weeks old!
“When we left London in 1998, I retrained at Sparsholt College taking a RHS course in Amenity Horticulture and ever since then I have been passionate about gardening. For the last four years I have studied the art of floristry.
“My workshop, prior to being the teddy bear shop, was a ceramic pottery shop and before that the old post sorting office. I have kept the old fashioned twin butler’s sink, perfect for washing up my long vases and old galvanised buckets.
“Belle & Blossom specializes in floral designs, weddings & event work, but we can cater for any occasion. The shop is always stocked with fresh flowers to go or pick up and a small range of unusual gifts and cards is always available.
“We have a regular calendar of workshops, the next one, on 6 August, is on Hand Tied Bunches.”
